SCOTTISH ANCESTOR

On-line access to records has never been better and now the 1911 census is available (sadly not in Scotland!) so you can research your ancestors from a distance.  However there is also a vast amount of information in books and newspapers in libraries and family history society collections which can give an insight into how your ancestor lived and worked. Although we cover most of Scotland, we specialise in research in Fife and Wigtownshire.

We offer a personal service, tailored to your needs. We can research your ancestors, find out if there is any historical records for them. Visit where they lived and are buried and where possible photograph house/gravestones. If you are planning to visit Scotland and "walk in the footsteps of your ancestor" - we can , prior to your visit areas, check if some of the places/gravestones are actually there for you to see. Time is normally limited and we are sure you don't want to travel miles to see your ancestral home and find there is nothing there. With prior knowledge you can organise your time to the best advantage.
